About SeeNano

Who we are, how we got here, and how we work with people

Our mission

To democratise single-molecule sensing — taking capability that exists mainly inside well-funded laboratories and packaging it into affordable, portable platforms.

SeeNano Technology B.V. was founded in November 2021 in Enschede, the Netherlands, by Xiaojun Yang and Taghi Moazzenzade. We work where nanotechnology meets electrochemistry: detecting signals small enough to correspond to single particles and single molecules, and making that detection cheap and portable enough to be worth using outside a specialist lab.

The company grew directly out of doctoral research on ring ultra-microelectrodes and single-entity electrochemistry — detecting individual particles one collision at a time. That remains our centre of gravity. The research continues, and funds itself, but the purpose is products: instruments and electrodes other people can build their own measurements on.

Founders

SeeNano is a two-founder company, built around single-entity electrochemistry

Xiaojun Yang

Co-founder & CEO

M.Sc. Applied Nanotechnology. Combines nanotechnology with hands-on hardware development — electrode fabrication, instrument design and the signal processing in between.

Alongside the company, a biosensor researcher at Saxion University, which hosts the funded particle-sizing project.

Focus: instrumentation, electrode fabrication, data analysis

Taghi Moazzenzade

Co-founder & CTO

PhD in single-entity electrochemistry. His doctoral work established the ring ultra-microelectrode method for current-blockade particle-impact detection that the sensing platform is built on.

First author on both peer-reviewed publications underpinning the platform, and a postdoctoral researcher at TU Eindhoven.

Focus: single-entity electrochemistry, sensing methodology

How we work with people

Three ways engagements usually start

📦

Buy the hardware

Take the potentiostat and functional electrodes as they are and run your own measurements. The fastest route, and the cheapest.
